Theme/Spelling words: chocolate, dark, milk, white, hollow, solid, melt, cake, sweet, brown

Squirt some chocolate sauce onto a tray and with your finger spell out your theme words.

Spell your theme words out of buttons/smarties.

Write your theme words in sentences; try to use connectives, verbs, adjectives and adverbs in your sentences.

Write out a shopping list of the ingredients you will need to make your cake from your maths activity.

Now write or draw the steps for making your cake to create a list of instructions. Top Tip: You may like to film it instead and pretend you are the host of a cooking show! (Genre of writing: Instructions)

Write a short story imagining you wake up one morning and discover that anything you touch turns to chocolate. (Genre of writing: Narrative) Top Tip: perhaps you would prefer to tell your story through a comic strip / illustrations.

Give a review on the last chocolate bar you ate. You could make a vlog and film your review; showing the bar, the packaging, describing the taste, is the packaging recyclable? How many stars will you give the chocolate bar end of your review? (Genres of writing: Personal Response and Review)

List as many adjectives as you can to describe chocolate.

Create a chocolate themed menu! What savoury dishes involve chocolate? What will be on your menu for the starter, main and dessert? Even the drinks can be chocolate! What will be the name of your menu or restaurant? Perhaps you could make an item on your menu?! Yum!
