We believe in your child’s learning ability and what is best way for them to learn. With the right approach and understanding their learning style, it is true remarkable what children of this age are capable of.
Speaking from experience, the pressure of an entrance exam can be extremely intense for any child, and we work with them to ensure that they are able to manage any stress or anxiety they are feeling.
Our tutoring techniques are fully researched and our methodology has been developed using academic studies of learning environments and teaching styles for children.
Our Entrance Exam Programme
The Education Boutique entrance exam programme is completely bespoke to your child. We assess the area where they are strong and where they are not so, build a tailored programme which enables them to remain confident in their current ability whilst learning new academic skills.
With your agreement, we then set structured tutoring often with visit 1 to 3 times per week with a view to have completed the programme with ample revision time before the exam.
Often we find the 1 to 1 tutoring approach enables them to have a great sense of freedom to express their concerns on certain subjects or topics
What is the structure of Entrance Exams?
The 11+ runs over 2 days with a consistent structured format. The first day there is English comprehension for 45 minutes and Maths for 1 hour. The second day involves a 45 minute creative writing test and a science test for one hour. It follows the nation curricular quite closely.
The 13+ also covers English, Maths and Science, as well as a range of other subjects. It is the norm for schools to expect children to take up to 3 more subjects. There are different levels of paper within the 13+ too.
